Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Edition

Saab is a Swedish car manufacturing company. Except from the automobiles the SAAB also produces aircraft equipment. The company is controlled by the General Motors Corporation.

The SAAB was founded in April 1937 and produced the military airplanes at first. After the war it started development of automobile projects. The first car was produced in 1946 and it was a SAAB 96. As an aircraft company the SAAB had developed a very good car body as far as its aerodynamic properties were concerned. The SAAB is still very distinguishable by this feature. The company reached its commercial success in 1959 after it had produced its high quality SAAB 95 MPV and in the 1960-s SAAB 96 became very popular.

The SAAB had no scruples about innovational technologies launching. In 1962 they were the first to equip their cars with safety belts. Later the first ventilated brake disks and impact resistant door beams appeared. Special emphasis was put on comfort of passengers and driver: 99th model was fitted with lamp wipers and heated seats. After the company had abandoned the idea of manufacturing sports cars, the SAAB concentrated its efforts on SAAB 99 revision, which series was one of the most expensive and luxurious car series in the world. In 1979 the SAAB launched into cooperation with the Lancia designers. The renowned SAAB 9000 was introduced in 1984. A modern SAAB is a bright sample of Scandinavian design combined with elegant simplicity of the North. The SAAB is easily recognizable by its aerodynamic profile.
